Nina Hayes is an LA-based Advanced Certified Yoga Instructor and Plant-Based Chef who’s mission is to cultivate joy through conscious movement and eating with awareness. Nina credits both her yoga practice and cooking sadhana (a spiritual tool for wellbeing) with allowing her to heal from a once debilitating illness.

Before moving to LA, Nina instructed yoga and meditation for corporations and universities throughout the US, taught movement for children with special needs at the Boston Ballet, and researched exercise & nutrition initiatives to benefit underserved populations with Children’s Hospital and Harvard Cancer Center. As a Plant-Based Chef, Nina founded an award-winning healthy bonbon company and worked with celebrity clients, including notable vegans, Mos Def and Talib Kweli. Her personal practice and teachings have taken her around the world to Australia, India, Europe, and Bali.

Instructing since 2009, Nina has trained extensively with Jivamukti Yoga NYC, Samadhi Yoga in Sydney, and received specialized training in Yoga for Cancer from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Dance from the University of Massachusetts and serves as International Ambassador for Yoga Gives Back.

Nina is deeply grateful for her teachers, especially Sharon Gannon, David Life, and Joshua Greene, for offering her the authentic teachings of yoga, which have allowed her to traverse physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges with tenacity, courage, and grace
Testimonials
Charley Izabella King, Actress/President of Bluebell Events
I had the pleasure of taking class with Nina and it was truly a wonderful experience. Her calm and nurturing demeanor and relaxing soft-spoken voice was perfect. Her class was excellently paced and made sure you worked every part of your body and your mind. I got a tremendous amount out of her class and left feeling a million times better in mind, body and spirit than when I went in.

I had a pleasure to meet Nina at Tantris yoga studio, she was the first teacher I met and that was the moment when I "felt" what yoga IS about! She showed that it's not a body exercise, asanas are part of a practice - flow meditation, but there is so much more. And with her guidance, I am blessed to learn more about it. Also, Nina is always there for me to give a suggestion as a spiritual teacher and as a friend.

In my 30 years of doing Yoga but Nina’s class was without a doubt the best ever!!! Nina is such a knowledgeable teacher and really pushes but in a controlled way. You want to do well so you might get a “well done” from her. She has a great personality not to mention an incredible yoga body and a delight as a person!!
